More Info about the Chart Mode:
A sample is taken every t second(s) where t is the selected refresh period.
This sample represents the percentage of CPU time used by the process during the t second(s).
This measure is far from greatly precise but it should give you a good idea of CPU usage by an application.
When the pattern of a measure is a mixture of black an dgreen, it means that the sample might be incorrect. It can occur for instance in those situations:
- While toggling between the Browser and Chart modes.
- You click on a Menu and you scroll through the Menu Item. MacOS is not a multi-everything OS so almost every process is stopped while you navigate in the Menu Bar.
Known Bugs:
- The alphabetic sort doesn’t work with some applications. Strange, isn’t it ?
- With a system prior to MacOS 8.6, il you click in the Show Pop-Up menu and you use the Quit Menu ShortCut, there will be a cosmetic Bug. It’s a bug from Apple.
